East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) communications officer Casper Waithaka has died in a road accident along Nairobi - Mombasa highway.
Waithaka reportedly died on the spot after his car rolled several times few metres from Nairobi - Namanga Road interchange in Athi River, Machakos County on Friday night.
Sources claim that the former Nation Media Group correspondent's death was prompted by a bodaboda operator who unexpectedly crossed the Mombasa road in front of the car he was driving during the incident.
Waithaka lost control of the car making it roll several times.
According to the EAPCC's communications manager Aaron Kisemei, the deceased had earlier before the incident been spotted at a pub in Kitengela town.
Kisemei said the information on Waithaka's demise started circulating at around 11.20 pm on the fateful night.
It is said the deceased was headed to Westlands in Nairobi to visit a friend.
The body was moved to Shalom Community Hospital's mortuary.
