Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot now says they are welcoming criticisms on their popular Punguza Mizigo Bill.
In a tweet on Thursday, Aukot who seemed to respond to Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo's criticism on the bill however said they are only open to genuine criticism that would lead to an effective debate.
"Of course MPs would cherry pick what they want to tell Kenyans. We welcome criticism on the #PunguzaMizigoBill2019, but genuine criticism. If only people shed off sycophancy and intelligently looked at the bill, we would have a better debate," tweeted Aukot.
During an interviewed at KTN's Point Blank last week, the ODM MP pocked holes at the Punguza Mizigo bill saying that it had been reduced to a normal parliamentary bill where the MPs can only say yes or no.
The Punguza Mizigo bill has received criticism from mainly the legislators while a number of citizens have expressed support for it.
Siaya Senator James Orengo on last week while speaking on KTN's Point Blank had also criticized the bill noting that unlike Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which was subjected to the conversation, the bill had not been debated among Kenyans.
"Punguza Mizigo Bill cannot be amended and was not subjected to the conversation, unlike what Building Bridges Initiative is doing. No one has even seen the Bill itself,” said Orengo as quoted by the Standard Digital.
