The battle to succeed Governor John Nyagarama continues to take shape with politicians realigning themselves ahead of the showdown.
The ODM county boss is set to exit active politics and at 75, he is not likely to continue staying in public limelight any longer after 2022 polls.
Already, there are claims that the outgoing county boss supports Borabu MP Ben Momanyi for the seat, a claim with the Wiper legislator has often denied.
"I have been in politics for quite some time. It's wrong to claim that someone is endorsing me. The people of Nyamira will make a decision," he said.
But on Sunday, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, a former speaker and a key figure in succession race, seemed to disown people from his Bogirango clan.
Mr Nyamoko said that Abagetutu clan are the reason why Nyamira is lagging behind, poking holes on delayed unity plans. Nyagarama comes from Bogirango.
"We have few months to polls yet Abagetutu are not ready. They are fighting and do not want to unite. You're the reason why Nyamira is suffering," he said.
From Bogetutu, former MPs Timothy Bosire, Mwancha Okioma and Walter Nyambati, are some of the front runners in Nyagarama's succession.
With both equally strong, Nyamoko contends that the region can produce Nyagarama's successor should they unite for the common purpose.
