Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro on Sunday night declared that he was going to spend the night at the VIP offices of the Royal Media Services.
This was after the police came for him at the media house seeking to arrest him after he allegedly incited youths to chase away leaders from the Kieleweke camp at Gitui Catholic Church on Sunday.
However, the leader refused to surrender to the police citing that he was not sure whether the people waiting for him outside the media house were police officers or goons sent to harm him.
“If I have done something wrong tell me where I should surrender tomorrow. I ask that you give me this seat I spend my night here today because if there are people waiting outside with ill intentions, I cannot take myself there. (Kama niko na makosa mimi munaniambia nitajipeleka wapi kesho. Na naomba pengine mutanipea ii kiti nilalie apa siku ya leo kwa sababu kama kuna watu wanakungoja apo nje na nia yao si nzuri, of course I cannot take myself there),” he said.
The leader came out to ask his fellow politicians to stop using the police to frustrate those who have defeated them politically.
Asked why he cannot surrender to the police waiting for outside, he expressed his fear for his life.
“I cannot take myself there, I don't know if they are thugs using police vehicles. (Siwezi jipeleka apo, sijui kama ni majambazi wanatumia gari za polisi). I mean I also have a family and a life to protect. And if I have mistakes there is a process that should be used in Kenya (Na kama kuna makosa kuna process unafaa utumie katika country ya Kenya),” he said.
During the day, Mr Nyoro had clashed with nominated MP Maina Kamanda over who should invite other leaders to speak at Gitui Catholic Church during a fundraiser.
The two leaders who are from the two factions in Jubilee, Tangatanga and Kieleweke ignited the rivalry between the two camps.
