Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed now says that Deputy President William Ruto is no longer serving under President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This comes amid pressures on the DP to resign from government, with his critics accusing him of undermining Uhuru through his remarks which contradict Uhuru's actions.
However, Junet is of the idea that the DP has for three years been out of the government campaigning for his 2022 presidential bid, and only lacks the courage to publicly declare his exit.
In a press conference at the Parliament buildings on Monday, he suggested that the DP's campaigns since 2017 are demonstrating that he has no business serving with Uhuru.
"We don't need to tell him to leave because he left long time ago, he just lacks the courage to tell Kenyans that I have left. He has been campaigning since 2017," he said.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi said that the DP has demonstrated that he is no longer interested in working with Uhuru and should consider concentrating on other things.
He claimed that were he the DP, he would be home attending to other businesses by now.
"If I were him I would be home by now, I would have resigned and doing other businesses," he added.
Ruto has been under criticism over his disregard for Uhuru's anti-politicking order, as well as his questioning of the push for constitutional changes, which enjoy Uhuru's backing.
