The interdiction came after the officers were linked to the illegal cutting of trees in Makueni

The top management decided to send the officers packing for failing to stop the vice as the government seeks to protect the forests.

The four were probed and found guilty for doing nothing to prevent the logging of trees in South Mbooni Forest Block (Kivale) yet they were earning from the same job.

The officers were serving at different ranks including Corporal, Forest Station Manager, Ecosystem Conservator, and County Enforcement Commander.

The unit has since deployed another team of officers to the area under the rapid response to ensure that the illegal logging of trees is a thing of the past.

The Chief Conservator of Forests Julius Kamau has issued a tough warning to residents colluding with the illegal loggers in the county.

KFS boss has said that tough measures have been put in place to ensure that the trees are protected to prevent the problem of deforestation.

Kamau has since appealed to different stakeholders to support the government in the quest to ensure trees thrive in Makueni.
