ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has mocked Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen for pleading with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to intervene for Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.
This was after the Elgeyo Marakwet senator called upon the DPP to intervene in the Monday evening arrest of Nyoro over allegations of assaulting a police officer on Sunday.
In a tweet on Monday, the senator expressed his shock about the arrest, calling upon the Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai to ensure that oppression is not allowed to prevail on the matter and urging Haji to intervene.
"I am actually surprised that Ndindi Nyoro has been arrested. I hope the Inspector General of Police remembers that power is transient and that we are merely temporary trustees in the offices bestowed upon us to serve and not to oppress others. I hope the ODPP will stand up to be counted!" he said
In his response, Etale jibed the vocal leader, not believing that he could go to that extent only a few years after he was all over the place speaking authoritatively.
He likened him to a boy speaking to his headteacher, telling him and his group to embrace what they are now being served.
"Eroo! I can’t believe this is Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen. Wa! How times can change. Can you imagine OKM (Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen) of yesterday years changing tune to start talking like a boy addressing his headmaster! What a humble Murkomen he has become...." he said.
