This follows claims that the group, including National Assembly and Senate Speakers Justin Muturi and Kenneth Lusaka used taxpayer's monies to facilitate the questionable trip.

Speaking on Wednesday, Kabogo took issue with the same, terming it unnecessary misuse of public funds, and observing that some of the memebrs of the group do not even understand English, making their involvement questionable.

"Nineskia wabunge 90 wameenda benchmarking na wengine hata hawaelewei kizungu. Watafanya benchmarking namna gani?

(I've hard that 90 MPs went for benchmarking, some of whom.don't even understand English. So how will they benchmark)," he wondered.

The former county boss made the remarks in an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday night, also attended by former Rongo parliamentary hopeful David Osiany and hosted by Bramwel Mwololo.

He stressed on the need for the parliament to be soberer when organizing such trips to avoid wasting the limited resources acquired by overburdening the taxpayer.

According to Kabogo, some of the lawmakers who attend such are simply joy-riders out to enjoy themselves.

"Hao kazi yao ni kurudi tu na vikapu (they are only good at returning with gift baskets)," he added.
