Accompanied by Kalembe, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Makueni MP Dan Maanzo among other leaders, Sonko Stormed Machakos Police Station and demanded the release of the workers.

Makau accused Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua of intimidating business people in the county.

The five were arrested on Wednesday evening after county officers from the department of health stormed a hotel owned by Ndile.

Machakos County Public Health Officer Isaac Matheka had issued a letter to Ndile indicating that the hotel would be closed indefinitely due to lack of proper food hygiene.

"Under food, drugs and chemicals substances regulation 2012 regulation 11(1) paragraph (a). Your food plant by reason of its situation, construction or disparage is in such a co diction that any food in the premise may be exposed to contamination or deterioration or being dirty, read the letter in part. You are hereby served with this notice in writing requiring you to use the food plant until the following conditions have been fulfilled," read the letter in part.

The department said that it had advised Ndile to ensure the hotel has proper liquid waste management and also recycle the pond water to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.

However, he said that the raid was conducted after he asked Mutua to stop meddling with the affairs of Nairobi County.
