Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has defended Chief Justice David Maraga after his Monday outburst.
In a press release to media houses, Atwoli said that Maraga is right to lament over any form of mistreatment and asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene in the woes of the Judiciary with immediate effect to give the judges a peace of mind to discharge their duties.
The Cotu boss noted that Judges go through tough times to ensure that they serve the people.
He also noted that the way the CJ is treated is not right, if his claims of mistreatment from the executive are true.
"Chief Justice David Maraga occupies an important position that calls upon all Kenyans to have confidence in him and his team," Atwoli said, as quoted by the Star.
He also said that he does not expect the Chief Justice to cry out in public yet he is among the senior-most leaders in the nation cautioning that the nation is doomed if a CJ can be handled in such a manner
"As a highly developed country, we should not retrogress to petty and suspicious informality kind of administration," he added.
Maraga lamented that he has not received the right treatment like other senior government officials.
