Speaking during a press conference at party headquarters in Nairobi on Tuesday, Kalonzo said that the proposals do not reflect the problems faced by citizens of this nation.

He admitted that some of the suggestions are good but reiterated that more needs to be done before the backing of the proposals.

He affirmed that he fully supports the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce report ahead of its release in September.

He appealed to his allies to reject the proposals fronted by the Former Presidential candidate also Thirdway Party Leader Ekuro Aukot.

“We support national cohesion and that is why we are opposed to this thing called Punguza Mizigo because we are able to lift the vail and see the dishonest intentions.

"We are calling on the counties not to be hoodwinked by telling MCAs that money will be more in the wards, so they need to reduce constituencies. It does not make sense,” said Musyoka, as quoted by Capital FM.

He also faulted Aukot’s team for not seeking the opinion of the public before presenting the proposals for approval at the county assembly.

He said that some of the ideas can be incorporated into the BBI report to make them address the needs of the general population in the long run.
