The former Starehe Constituency MP has emerged as a key member of the President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga that has been preaching the BBI gospel across the country.

According to Kamanda, BBI no longer a joke as people had thought especially after the 2018 handshake between the President and the former Prime Minister.

"You look at the way Kenyans have embraced BBI. When we started rallying behind BBI, people thought we were joking. But now look at the sea of humanity that turned up in Kisii and Kakamega. My friend, BBI is the future of Kenya," the lawmaker told The Star.

Now as one of the President and Raila's main backers, Kamanda was present in Kisii during the first BBI consultative meeting that was attended by the former Premier and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and a host of other leaders including Governors.

Furthermore in  Kakamega, during the second BBI meeting that was also attended by the African Union Special Envoy for Infrastructure Development, Kamanda was conspicuously present.

Kamanda is the face of BBI drive in Nairobi and was reportedly recently appointed by the President and Raila, alongside others, to popularize the initiative in the capital.
