Popular Kenyan hip hop artist Khaligraph Jones on Sunday criticized the media for trying to take advantage of Stevo Simple Boy of the 'Vijana tuache mihadarati' fame.
Jones was particularly not pleased with the fact that interviewers kept on referring to the singer as a comedian yet he had reiterated that he is a hip hop artist.
"Right now I see every person wanting to host this guy on their shows because he will increase their ratings. And then instead of talking about drugs, they start asking him if he is the most handsome man when he clearly stated that he is not a comedian (Naona Sai Kila mtu anataka Kuleta Uyu Kijana Interview kwa Show zao sababu Atawaongezea Ratings, alafu Badala ya kuongelea Mihadarati mnaanza kumuuliza kama Yeye ndio the most handsome man when he clearly stated he is not a comedian but an artist)," the artist wrote on his Instagram.
He went ahead to caution popular comedian cum TV presenter Chipukeezy who discovered him on his show. He asked him to protect the young artist against being used by the media.
"@chipukeezy make sure All his Expenses are being catered for by anyone who wants to host him on their TV/ Radio/Blog shows, these people have a tendency of calling people for interviews, and then they use you and abandon you (hawa watu wanapenda kuitana interview wanakutumia alafu wanawacha)," Jones' Instagram post read.
Stevo Simple Boy went viral for his song dubbed 'Mihadarati' shortly after he was hosted on The Chipukeezy Show.
