Moments after DPP Noordin Haji ordered for the arrest of Rotich and 27 others over alleged embezzlement of Sh21 billion meant for construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams, Rotich surrendered at DCI headquarters.

And Ngunjiri lauded DCI George Kinoti and Mr Haji following the latest crackdown, adding that it has vindicated the two from previous attacks by Dr Ruto and his supporters.

"Congratulations to DCI George Kinoti and DPP Haji for not buckling down under the vicious political attacks that were directed at you by TangaTanga when you started doing investigations into the Arror & Kimwarer dams.

"You have proven that this was not a political witch-hunt & neither was anyone ‘weaponzing’ the fight against corruption for 2022 elections, as TangaTanga claimed in numerous political rallies," said Ngunjiri.

And the first term MP went on to post a video in which Dr Ruto had defended Rotich and other suspects saying: "Let me just leave this here."

Early this year, Ruto dismissed claims that Sh21 billion had been embezzled by state officials, adding that the allegations were part of a wider scheme to harass people believed to be his supporters.

“You've heard that government has lost about Sh21 billion in Kimwarer and Arror dam, which is a flat lie!” he said at the Supreme Court.

“The money in question is about Sh7 billion and for every coin that has been paid, we have a bank guarantee. No money will be lost because we are a responsible government.”

Mr Ngunjiri Wambugu is the leader of Kieleweke faction of Jubilee and has been accusing Dr Ruto of allegedly defending graft purge, adding that the move targets injuring President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy bid.
