K24 TV news anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga has opened up after her exit from the Mediamaxx owned station.
Chidzuga on Wednesday revealed to Kenyans.co.ke that her contract with the station will end in November this year and that she is planning on becoming a full-time caterer.
She stated that journalism was a side hustle for her as her main career was catering as she has three restaurants to her name.
"For me K24 TV was part-time. I am a full-time caterer and I own three restaurants. K24 was a hobby and I used to work like 12 hours the whole month," said Chidzuga as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke.
She also disclosed that she was planning on opening another restaurant soon before the year ends and concentrate fully on her business.
Chidzuga joined K24 in November 2015 after she was fired from KTN while preparing to present a show.
On Wednesday, Mediamax limited announced mass firing where senior journalists and editors were shown the door.
Chidzuga broke the news of her exit to her followers on Instagram.
She said that journalism was a great experience for her but she had to focus on her passion.
"Hi good people I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support @K24 #K24Wikendi but again God has bigger plans for me away from K24TV. It has been a great experience for me working with a great team of journalists and the shows I have hosted have been memorable. But now I have to focus on my passion #eventsandcatering we will meet again #screennexttoyou. Thank you and be blessed," read her Instagram post.
