Manduku passed on while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital on Saturday night.

In a post on his Facebook page on Sunday, Maangi said the late MP who was also a former assistant minister of Foreign Affairs will be remembered for transforming the lives of many people more particularly in Nyaribari Masaba constituency.

"Manduku will always be remembered for his visionary leadership that transformed the lives of many particularly in his constituency of Nyaribari Masaba. He will also be remembered for coming up with HEMA Hospital, one of the biggest private hospitals in the region," reads part of the Deputy governor's post.

He added; "I convey my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and to the people of Nyaribari Masaba. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace."

Manduku has been battling a disease for a while. His body was moved to Lee Funeral home pending burial arrangements.

He was first elected in 1992 and held the MP seat for five years before he lost to Prof Sam Ongeri in 1997.

Manduku made a come back during the 2002 general elections and won the seat from Ongeri.
