The alleged close working relationship between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju was exaggerated, former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has said.
Last week, Deputy President William Ruto viciously attacked Tuju, accusing him of sabotaging Jubilee administration from within by working with Raila.
Thereafter, a section of leaders allied to Dr Ruto demanded for resignation of the cabinet secretary without portfolio even as he stayed put.
But Bosire now says the working relationship is anchored on the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, adding that media exaggerated.
"The section of the media that publicised the Tuju-ODM dalliance may have exaggerated the matter or over-spiced it for their own reasons, but nothing in that justifies the attack, demonisation or threats on Tuju," he said.
Bosire, who doubles as ODM treasurer added: "Tuju is free to work with other liberal Kenyans. Antagonising him should be the last option by critics of handshake."
He accused Deputy President William Ruto of committing worse acts than Tuju in political parties, giving an example of poaching of several MPs from ODM by Ruto.
"With his well-known crusade to raid other parties for disciples, campaigners and supporters, Ruto must be taking Kenyans for fools that he can erupt with anger and purport to reprimand and castigate any other Jubilee official or member who dares associate with other parties. And vice versa," he said.
