The Party of National Unity (PNU) has began reorganizing itself in preparation for the much awaited 2022 general elections.

The party, through its new Chair David Kamau, says that it's planning a major comeback in the polls, twelve years after securing former President Mwai Kibaki the presidency.

Speaking on Sunday, he said that the party will be opening new offices countrywide, in addition to the ones it already has in 18 counties, as it seeks to attract more supporters.

He added that the political bloc is as well in the process of recruiting new members.

“We are planning to have offices in all our 47 Counties to strengthen our party which now want to make a major political comeback ahead of the next general elections,” he said.

About the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) the party stated its full support for the President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga initiative.

Founding member George Omari said that the party is for an all inclusive government, while declaring the party's support for the March 2018 handshake between the two leaders.

“We are here with the founder members of the party as resource persons to the current national committee, as initiators of the (BBI) we want also to feel the input of our party in its report,” he said.

They made the remarks in presence of Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Murithi and Trade and Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.
