President Uhuru Kenyatta has confirmed that he is indeed closer to opposition leader Raila Odinga than what meets the eye.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday, the President termed Raila his advisor with whom he has been collaborating with on matters running the government.
He said that he sees no bad in consulting the former Prime Minister in matters running the state, adding that the same shall continue for the good of the nation.
The Head of State added that they are committed to jointly bettering the nation and will not be dragged into the heating 2022 general elections debate.
“Those who want to do politics, let them continue loitering. My focus is development. I see no problem if Raila tells me to change this or that in matters development for the benefit of Kenyans,” said Uhuru.
He said that with his team, he will take each and every necessary measure to ensure that every Kenyan enjoys the fruits that should come with having a government.
“We will go from Mombasa to Kisumu, Moyale to Namanga to ensure every Kenyan enjoys the fruits to development. That is our focus," he was quoted by the Nation.
Uhuru and Raila, former political rivals, on March 9, 2018 shelved their rivalry and reached a truce with am aim of rehabilitating the then polarized nation.
They have vowed to use their union to among others, unite Kenyans and foster development and national collaboration.
