Nyeri Town member of parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has said that the working relationship between president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto is dead.
Speaking on the Punchline during on Sunday night Wambugu said that the reason why Uhuru and Ruto are differing is that Ruto had embarked on politicization of development.
"The DP is rebellious to the president, he has been undermining the president instead of following his directives, the relationship between them is dead," said Ngujiri.
He gave an example where DP Ruto went to launch a project in Taita Taveta in the absence of a Cabinet secretary, Permanent secretary or any other government official.
He went ahead to state that despite the poor working relationship between Uhuru and Ruto service delivery by the government won't be affected.
He said that there is no law that suggests that a president and his deputy should have a working relationship.
"The reason why the DP is there is in case something happens to the president. His work is to assist the president in his work," he said.
He said that for Uhuru and Ruto to reach 2022 as one will depend on how Ruto is going to behave.
Wambungu acknowledged that president Uhuru Kenyatta has not lost his grip in Mount Kenya as some people suggest.
