Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has revisited an incident where two people lost their lives after being run over by Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar.
Mugo Mwangi and Joseph Maingi lost their lives in the incident. Mwangi intimated that despite the weight of the incident, the MP was released on Sh20, 000 cash bail.
"Jaguar was charged with killing two people, a boda boda rider, Mugo Mwangi, and his passenger, Joseph Maingi. Court found him guilty and fined him 20,000 or in default six months imprisonment. In Kenya, you're guilty, until proven rich. Why hire a lawyer when you can buy the judge?" he said.
Mwangi's revelation comes just a day after Jaguar was arrested by the detective from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) over his inciteful remarks on Monday against traders from Tanzania, Uganda and China.
Jaguar's ethnocentric statements caused an uproar from Kenyans, leaders and even Tanzanian leaders who summoned the Kenyan Ambassador to Tanzania Dan Kazungu asking if their citizens were safe in Kenya after the MP's threat to kick them out.
