The Jubilee Party has deployed different politicians to reach out to members of their tribes in the much-awaited Kibra by-election.
Among the politicians who will be wooing support for Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga in Kibra is Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, who has been entrusted with the role of delivering the Luhya vote.
Barasa says that the strategy will not only be applied in Kibra, where he has been deployed to Lindi Ward, but also at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, where a declaration will be made on Thursday.
"On Thursday we will hold a major meeting with Luhya people. There will be a huge declaration at Bhukhungu grounds," he told the Tuesday Standard.
Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali, both Luhyas, have been deployed to Makina Ward under the same strategy.
At the same time, John Kiarie (Dagoretti South) and Charles Njagua (Starehe) have been deployed to Woodley, which is populated by members of the Kikuyu community.
Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East) and Vincent Musyoka (Mwala) have been tasked with the role of delivering the Kamba vote from Laini Saba, as the campaign season approaches the end.
Jubilee is facing competition from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Amani National Congress (ANC) which have fronted Imran Okoth and Eliud Owalo respectively.
