Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has challenged women to venture into active politics in 2022 General Elections.
Ndeti told women to take the step and seek leadership positions.
She said politics is not a preserve for men only.
According to the Wiper politician, women have the constitutional right to contest for the political seats they want.
Speaking during a dialogue platform convened by the Center for Multi-Party Democracy (CMD) in Nairobi on Thursday, Ndeti said the future of Kenya is women.
She noted that women leaders must rise to the occasion and save the country from poor leadership.
“Women must come out and contest for top leadership positions and provide the change millions of Kenyans are yearning for,” Ndeti said.
Ndeti said women fear politics because it is perceived to be a ‘dirty game’.
Meanwhile, the former Kathiani legislator has asked political leaders across the divide to champion for political parties' democracy.
She said party democracy is critical in championing for the country’s political, social and economic agenda.
Ndeti unsuccessfully contested the Machakos gubernatorial seat in both 2013 and 2017 polls.
