The two leaders shelved their political differences through the handshake, which has seen them drift closer since, with some of Raila's allies claiming to be in government, with others observing that it might last until the 2022 polls.

Speaking on Radio Jambo on Wednesday night, Sankok ruled out any chances of Raila receiving any political benefits, claiming that the truce was only a way of pulling him closer and enabling Uhuru to 'regulate' him.

He claimed that Uhuru was on a mission to tame the former Prime Minister who was initially giving his leadership nightmares, and the plan was to cool him down to enable the president to peacefully work.

"The handshake was a way of making him like a class monitor whose job is to hush the classroom, so that the president and Jubilee can proceed with their work (Handshake ilikuwa njia ya kuweka Raila awe kama class monitor wa kuambia watu nyamazeni ndio rais na Jubilee waendelee na kazi)," he said.

However, Raila and Uhuru insists that the handshake was all about uniting the country.
