Breastfeeding is generally of great importance to an infant when in their early stages. But there are situations or points in time when one can stop or has to stop breastfeeding. Here are the signs;
1. When your child is at least one year old
If you intend to stop breastfeeding that kid, then you should wait until he or she is one year old. After one year, the offspring will have acquired all the essential nutrients required by the body organs that will make him grow swiftly. Besides, the kid won't be predisposed to any malady that usually develops as a result of not giving him or her enough milk.
2. When your child begins to lose interest
Is she or he craving for more milk? If no, then it's high time you should stop forcing them with milk. This simply means that the kid has had enough of milk and probably wants solid foods like porridge and such. However, if they are still interested in the milk, then keep on breastfeeding them.
3. When there are sores on your nipples
Sores usually develop due to many factors like infection caused by fungus. Friction can also cause sores development. It will be a nice idea if you stop allowing your child to suck your breasts when those sores seem to persist.
