KANU candidate Ibrahim Sheikh Mohamud has vowed to humiliate his Jubilee Party rival Ahmed Kolosh in the next week Wajir West by-election.
Speaking to the Daily Nation on Thursday, Sheikh said he will win the by-election free and square.
The KANU candidate downplayed the recent move that saw Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Mohamed Yusuf Elmi bow out of the race in support of Kolosh.
Sheikh termed the alliance between Kolosh and Elmi as inconsequential claiming that it will work against them.
"They hammered out a deal but moved into it alone. They have not moved with the people," he said as quoted by Nation.
Sheikh accused his rivals of trying to cause divisions among the clans in the constituency.
He, however, said that clan politics will not play any part in next week by-election.
The KANU candidate urged his supporters to come out in large numbers and vote for him in the by-election.
Sheikh successfully petitioned the election of Kolosh that saw the Supreme Court nullify it.
Two weeks ago, professor Elmi of ODM withdrew his candidature from the by-election and declared support for Kolosh.
Two other candidates Ali Noor Abdi of Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) and Abbas Nunow of Agano party also quit the by-election in support of Kolosh.
Kolosh quit ODM party days after his victory was nullified and joined Jubilee Party.
He (Kolosh) has exuded confidence of retaining the seat in next week by-election.
