Kisii Governor James Ongwae has dismissed claims that he is selfish and stingy.
According to the county boss, he has been giving financial support to Kisii residents more especially bodaboda riders whenever he moves around Kisii County.
"I'm not stingy, Kisii residents should know that I give to people generously. It is important to note that we will all leave money and wealth on this earth once we die. I feel happy when I give out any financial support to residents of Kisii and bodaboda riders can attest to that," said Ongwae in Kisii town on Sunday.
He assured residents that he will continue helping the less fortunate in the society arguing that the hand that gives receives blessings in return.
Ongwae challenged Kisii residents especially those from well-established families to consider giving a helping hand to those from poor families.
The second term governor urged parents across the county to invest in their children through education.
"For the future generation to live a good life there is a need for parents to ensure their children are educated since it is through education that we can only shape the lives of the future generation," Ongwae added.
