An accused person shared a light moment with a magistrate in a Kiambu Court in a case where the accused is facing robbery charges.

Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo had recognized the accused person, Peter Kimani when he was arraigned in court.

“You have appeared before this court before?” asked Magistrate Atambo suggesting that the accused person had been arraigned in court previously for a different crime.

Kenyanews.go.ke reports that Kimani amused the court when he answered yes saying that he was previously charged in court but acquitted on charges of robbery with violence.

In the case, Kimani was being accused that he allegedly broke and entered a house belonging to John Kimani Waweru on November 23, 2019.

The court heard that the accused person stole property from the house located at Karura Village in Kiambaa within Kiambu County.

He was accused of allegedly stealing a sonar decoder, a 24 inch TV make LG, pro-gas meko with burner, DVD player make sony, Radio hot point all valued at Sh32,500.

The accused person, however, denied the charges before the court and magistrate Atambo ordered that he be released on a Sh100,000 bond with a surety of similar amount.

The case will be mentioned on December 6, 2019.
