In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the player expressed gratitude to coach Sebastian Migne for the opportunity to represent the country.

He also thanked Harambee Stars' fans for their support.

"Was an honour to represent my country at the AFCON 2019. I Want to thank my coach Migne for believing in me.

"The squad we have is a great bunch of lads who are willing to learn and give everything and we can hold our heads high. Thank you to everyone who supported our journey.

"To my fans, the love you've shown me throughout the tournament is just but amazing. May God bless you all. #13," he said.

Kenya failed to qualify for the round of 16 after Benin held the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon to a barren draw that saw Kenya displaced from the group of third placed teams with the potential to proceed.

The Harambee Stars won only one game in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Tanzania and lost two against Algeria, and Senegal.
