Family of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth has now changed its tune on the earlier plans to bury a banana trunk in the memory of the deceased.
The kinsmen were not happy after it emerged that the lawmaker has been cremated at the Kariokor Crematorium without their knowledge.
The Luo Council of Elder has said that it is not African for the body of a deceased person of Ken’s stature to be cremated.
The family made an about-turn after hosting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders led by its National Chairman John Mbadi in Ogenga village in Kabondo Kasipul Constituency.
Mbadi said that an amicable solution had been reached after a long discussion, adding that the family is now okay with everything following the demise of the lawmaker.
Mbadi visited the family alongside the mother of the deceased Angelina Ajwang' and area MP Eve Obara where they discussed the issue of the burial.
“We have held an indoor meeting with Okoth's family members and agreed that nothing will be buried in this home,” said Mbadi, said after the meeting, as quoted by Standard.
