Kiambu deputy governor James Nyoro has asked Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to ignore the advice by Governor Ferdinand Waititu on the ongoing demolitions on riparian land.
Nyoro wants Sonko and the multi-agency team leading the demolition to go on with the exercise.The deputy governor says that demolition of structures on riparian land is the only way to save the rivers and reclaim grabbed public land.Nyoro says that unscrupulous businessmen have encroached on riparian land causing problems to city dwellers and those in adjacent areas.He said clearing of structures on riparian land will save Nairobi and Kiambu people from perennial flooding."Governor Mike Sonko and the team should go on with the demolitions on riparian land and ignore the fake advice from some people," he told journalists in Kamirithu, Limuru Town on Monday.His boss Ferdinand Waititu has faulted the ongoing demolitions in the city, saying it is scaring away investors.Waititu advised for re-directing of rivers instead of demolishing structures.#hivisasaoriginal
