Deputy President William Ruto is on Saturday expected to preside over a fundraiser in Emuhaya Constituency, Vihiga County.
The DP who will be accompanied by a host of leaders among them Members of Parliament (MPs) and Senators will be at the Esibila Primary School in West Bunyore ward for a funds drive aimed at supporting several women groups in Emuhaya Constituency.
Ruto’s visit has been confirmed by West Bunyore Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Wimsy Manoah Osore.
“I invited the DP for a fundraiser in support of women groups in my area. I urge residents of West Bunyore ward and Emuhaya Constituency, in general, to turn up in large numbers and welcome the DP as from 8 am,” Osore told Hivisasa on the phone, Friday afternoon.
He said Ruto will be accompanied by several leaders, among them former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale.
Area MP Jeremiah Omboko Milemba and former Vihiga Governor Reverend Moses Akaranga are also expected to attend the event.
Vihiga County is the home turf of Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
In the recent past, the DP has been making forays in the Western region as he continues to lay a formidable support base ahead of the 2022 general elections.
