A furious Tiaty MP William Kamket on Friday clashed with Energy CS Charles Keter during the launching of power connectivity at his constituency.
Mr Keter had visited the region to launch the project with Geothermal Development Company. The company is in charge of distribution of power.
But before the function started, Mr Kamket accused the minister of undermining him and the people of Tiaty, adding that those affected had not been compensated.
A standoff ensued as the leaders clashed in public, with Kamket insisting that the move was meant to undermine the Pokot people in Baringo.
But after several minutes of arguments, the two finally addressed the media, both defending their positions over the matter.
"I have no issues with the minister. However, when such projects are carried out, let's ensure people are involved. That's the policy of the government," he said.
Mr Keter, a key ally of Deputy President William Ruto and former Kericho Senator, regretted the confrontation, adding such differences are normal.
"At times such differences are normal but we sit, talk and agree. It's regrettable but we have since agreed over the matter," said Mr Keter.
Also in the confrontations was Baringo Woman Representative Gladwell Tungo, who accused Mr Keter of undermining leaders from the region.
Both Tungo and Kamket are close allies of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, who has declared interest in Presidency. Kamket recently said Kenyans owe Mr Moi.
