State House Digital and Innovation Strategist Dennis Itumbi has narrated how he was smothered by the police at Kilimani Police Station after trying to 'save' Gatundu legislator Moses Kuria.
Itumbi had announced via twitter that he was heading to Kilimani Police Station where Kuria was locked up, to record a statement on his behalf.
"Wamenichapa. They hit me as I went back to take my car. 18 policemen rained blows, they started kicking me. What kind of people are these?" Itumbi questioned in a video seen by kenyans.co.ke.
Itumbi further lamented that the 18 policemen could have just locked him in the cells because he had not committed any crime.
After the incident, Itumbi shared on his Twitter page that he was treated and discharged and everything was well. He promised to ensure that Kuria is scot-free.
Itumbi insisted that Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, had obtained court orders to release Kuria but the police allegedly declined to obey, saying they only obey orders from Harambee house.
"We will not obey court orders. Our orders are from Harambee (House). Go ask our bosses," Itumbi quoted the police.
The digital strategist accused Kiambu activist Joyce Wanja of trying to blackmail Kuria.
"The complainant wanted money. Moses said he was NOT guilty and would not be blackmailed!" Itumbi tweeted.
