Kangundo Member of Parliament Fabian Muli has said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report doesn't need a referendum for it to be implemented.
Speaking on Saturday, Muli stated that recommendations in the BBI report are good and lawmakers at the National Assembly would pass it without any problem.
"We don't need to use 30 billion shillings for the referendum yet the lawmakers are ready to pass the report. Nothing has been changed in the report," said Muli.
He said that the Sh30 billion meant for a referendum should be used to do something else that would help Kenyans.
Similar sentiments were shared by Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka who said that the report is not a 'Tsunami' as some leaders had alleged.
He said that all the hullabaloo about the report being a big deal was just hot air.
"I was there when the report was being read and it's not what I expected. Some people could not give us peace telling us how big the report will be but after seeing it, there is nothing different or new," Munyaka said.
The two leaders spoke in Kangundo at a fundraising ceremony attended by Deputy President William Ruto and other legislators from the region.
