Mathare Member of Parliament Anthony Oluoch has weighed in on the perceived fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Oluoch said that it is clear that the second in command wants to dare the President to send him home.
He retorted that Ruto has openly shown that he doesn’t respect the President at all. He argued that the recent remarks of the DP is an indication that their relationship will not hold until that time comes.
“The Deputy President now no longer cares to respect the President, he is daring the President to fire him & the President should do just that,” he said.
On his part, Senator Mwaura Isaac said that the position of the Deputy President is a weak one.
He alluded that it is only Ruto who has made the position look bigger than it is in the real sense. He said that the second in command needs to swallow his ego and work with the President.
“The position of the DP is a very weak one, it is nothing more than just assistant to the President. The current occupant, by sheer force of his personality, has made the position to look big & powerful," he said.
