Uganda President Yoweri Museveni has honoured Deputy President William Ruto by setting up The William Ruto Leadership Institute.
Confirming the directive, Makerere University communicated that Uganda president had requested that Makerere University hosts the institute named after the DP Ruto.
“Makerere University has been requested by the Office of the President of the Republic of Uganda to host The William Ruto Leadership Institute with the laying of the foundation stone slated for December 21,” part of the statement from the Makerere university read.
DP Ruto is expected to oversee the launch of the institute at Makerere University, Uganda today.
David Mugonyi who is in charge of communications in the office of DP Ruto confirmed that indeed the reports from the University were credible.
The Ugandan University through its official Twitter handle on Friday evening welcomed DP Ruto for the event.

Reports from Standard indicate that the institute will be aimed at developing methodologies for the study of Africa and enhance the understanding of Africa and generally improve education in the continent.
