Speaking during the burial ceremony of Okebiro at Enchoro area in West Mugirango, Nyamira County on Friday, Omweri said Egesa FM gave Okebiro a platform to build his talent.

She noted that the radio station has been supportive in the growth of Okebiro in his role as a presenter and as a comedian.

"Those criticizing me that I was misusing Okebero are not informed. As a radio manager, I gave Okebiro what he deserved as comedian. As a man with a family he was being paid for his good work," she noted.

The Egesa FM boss blamed a section of people who are tarnishing her name by spreading propaganda that her leadership at Egesa FM led to Okebiro's death.

She called on all Egesa FM fans to shun those tarnishing her name and that of the radio station.

"I am urging our fans to ignore the misleading information on social media being spread by enemies. As a Gusii community radio, we will continue articulating issues affecting our people," she added.
