Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has joined other leaders in mourning the demise of veteran sports commentator Mohammed Juma Njuguna. Njuguna died on Saturday after a long battle with illness at the Nairobi Hospital.
In his message of condolence, Kabogo said that the death of journalist is not only a big blow to the immediate family but also the entire nation.
He noted that the journalist was a pillar of strength in his family before his death. He also said that the journalist will forever live in the hearts of millions of Kenyans despite his demise.
“I’m saddened to learn of the passing on of Mohamed Njuguna. I was privileged to have interacted with him in many occasions. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace. Our prayers go to his family and friends,” he tweeted.
The deceased worked in the media industry for more than a decade. He was a content producer at Radio Citizen after landing the role in 2016. He once worked at KBC before he decided to move to the Royal Media Services in 1999.
He was awarded with a Head of State Commendation by retired President Mwai Kibaki on March 10, 2010 because of his mastery of Kiswahili during his commentary in sports.
