Deputy President William Ruto has for the first time opened up on events that unfolded after 2007 elections.
In the ODM arrangement, he said, Raila Odinga was to be president, Musalia Mudavadi Vice President while Ruto was to settle for Prime Minister position.
"It was very clear that Raila was to be President, Musalia Mudavadi his deputy and I was to take PM.
"But since we missed everything and you know what happened, the two shared my position," he recalled at Kakamega on Saturday.
The DP was making reference to post election violence that saw late Kofi Annan broker a deal that introduced grand coalition government.
In the arrangement, Mwai Kibaki remained president while Raila's ODM took PM and one DPM slot which Musalia was appointed to.
While Ruto was appointed Agriculture Minister, he would later break ranks with Raila after he was implicated of crimes against humanity in the ICC.
"After all that, I was taken to the Hague and none of these two came to see me," he added.
At the event, Ruto challenged Raila and Mudavadi to back his 2022 bid because he's 'nearly there'.
Although it's not clear whether Raila will be on ballot, he has however continued to rally behind peace pact he signed with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
