Through his Facebook, the lawmaker said that Ruto has decided to follow the footsteps of Orange Democratic Movement Raila Amolo Odinga.

Ngunjiri noted that  Ruto is now using underhand tactics to remain relevant in the political arena as he seeks to rise to the presidency when President  Uhuru Kenyatta leaves power in 2022.

He hightailed propaganda, premature campaigns and undermining his political allies.

“Everything Ruto is doing today Raila did many times and for many years. Running impressive intense country-wide campaign tours, mobilising to show large crowds, setting political demographics against each other, strategically undermining political allies, doing populist politics, speaking very well politically, etc,” he said.

“But it didn’t make Raila President. It just made him the leader of the opposition. But now Raila has changed. He’s doing things different. The office of ‘Leader of Opposition’ is now vacant.”

Ruto stands a better chance to beat his Raila and other team matters during the contest. However,  the handshake between Raila ad Uhuru has complicated Ruto's presidential dream before that 2022.

He is likely to lock horns with Raila although the Luo political kingpin has denied claims that he will be on the ballot when that time comes,
