A ward representative has claimed that the first term governor has been suspending and firing staff without undertaking the proper procedures.

Mowlem MCA Benson Mwangi has now asked the governor to give the details of the reasons behind the firing of several staff members from the county government.

He said Sonko has demoted, suspended and fired several officials from the county government without clear reasons over the same

"The last two years of operations within the county executive have been defined by instability characterised by constant reshuffles, suspensions sackings and constant falling-out.

"These demotions, suspensions and sackings are usually based on mere allegations without tangible (evidence), warnings or due disciplinary process,” said Mr Mwangi, as quoted by Daily Nation.

This is after the governor resolved to suspend Finance executive Charles Kerich and Health executive Mohamed Dagane.

The suspension of the two came after several students perished at the Precious Talents School tragedy.

Records show that the governor has fired more than 10 employees of the county from the Urban Planning department.

Sonko has in the past insisted that he will not tolerate laxity at his place of work as long as he remains in office.
