Kisumu All Stars is among the 18 teams that will be taking part in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) next season.

The Kisumu County government sponsored side booked a KPL slot on Sunday, after finishing second on the National Super League (NSL) log with 80 points, one point behind Champions Wazito FC courtesy of a resounding 7-1 victory against Thika United.

Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o is among hundreds of fans revelling in the KPL promotion. The County boss has assured the team of his administration’s unwavering support ahead of life in the KPL.

“I am elated with the outstanding performance by Kisumu All-Stars in their final National Super League match this afternoon against Thika United FC that has seen them qualify to join Kenya Premier League in the next season. As a county be assured of our unwavering support. Hongera!” said Anyang’ Nyong’o.

Former Kisumu County women Representative, now nominated Senator Rose Nyamunga has also joined in the delight of having Kisumu All-Stars in KPL.

“Kisumu All Stars FC has made us proud after thrashing Thika United 7:1 to secure a position in the Kenyan Premier League next season. I want to join the steering team, the players, supporters and the people of Kisumu in celebrating this new development,” posted Rose Nyamunga.
