Speaking on Wednesday, the commentator underscored that this could be the meaning behind Uhuru's Friday remark that he would not mind serving as the Prime Minister after a referendum.

According to Weda, this is most likely Uhuru's way of preparing the nation for what might follow should the said constitutional amendments be realized.

He said that it should not be interpreted directly, as Uhuru has already declared that he will be retiring in 2022 and wouldn't want to be seen as a man of double standards.

"Uhuru might have been building the base that one of them from Mt Kenya might be President or Prime Minister. But it will be hard sell for him to come back because he has already declared that he will be leaving," he said.

He made the remarks on KBC English Service on Wednesday morning.

About the politicians opposing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), from where the referendum is expected to emanate, he said that they are just opposing it for the sake of it.

According to the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA) member, the politicians cannot claim to know anything about what they are opposing yet the BBI report is not yet out.

"Nobody knows about the content of the BBI. People arw just shooting in the air hoping that they can shoot what they want to shoot," he added.

The opposition has been emanating from the Deputy President William Ruto quarter, which is also opposed to the 2018 truce and union between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
