The President in the company of top government officials will be launching the NIIMS project at Masii grounds.

On Monday, Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua confirmed President Kenyatta's Tuesday visit.

Governor Mutua led government security officials among them Machakos County Commissioner Esther Maina in inspecting Masii grounds, the venue of the NIIMS launch.

In a statement on his Twitter account, the Machakos county boss said all preparations to host the president have been finalized."

"All set for the presidential launch of the Huduma Number in Machakos county. We are delighted to be hosting H.E the president Uhuru Kenyatta in Masii tomorrow," Governor Mutua tweeted.

The Machakos county boss added, "Machakos County and the entire Ukambani leadership will be present, representing our people and united in one cause of providing better services to the Wananchi."

Governor Mutua said hosting NIIMS launch is a great recognition and also a vote of confidence in the county's leadership.

Top politicians in Ukambani are expected to attend the launch.

The debate on the ongoing war against graft is likely to take centre stage during the NIIMS launch.

President Kenyatta has warned that action will be taken against all those plundering the taxpayers' money.

Last week, he warned politicians against politicising the renewed war against corruption.

President Kenyatta asked politicians to allow independent agencies mandated to fight corruption do their work.

A section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto has been accusing the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) George Kinoti of allegedly weaponising war against graft.

Kinoti has, however, rubbished the claims, saying he is not targeting certain individuals or communities in the fight against corruption.
