Deputy President William Ruto has eulogized Meru Senator Mithika Linturi's dad, Peter GichungeLinturi.
Ruto eulogised him as a true father who wanted nothing but the best for his family.
"Mzee Peter Gichunge Linturi was a dependable, caring, loving husband and father, who ingrained hard work, friendship and honesty in his children. He was a selfless leader and helped establish, strengthen the sacco movement in the larger Meru, which has empowered the community," he said.
Ruto also noted that the late Mzee Linturi was a dedicated, successful farmer. More so, he did put God first in all he did.
DP Ruto was among several leaders who attended the burial ceremony which took place in Igembe South, Meru County on Tuesday.
Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki , Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, and Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici among others were in attendance for the final sending off of Mzee Linturi.
Surprisingly, Marianne Kitany, embattled Senator Mithika Linturi's wife did not attend the burial despite declaring on Monday that she would attend.
Through her lawyer, Danstan Omari, she stated that she will be at “father-in-law’s burial.
However, on the burial day, she was no-where to be seen.
"Her father-in law's" eulogy also listed Mithika Linturi’s first wife, Mercy Kaimenyi as a daughter-in-law.
