An elected ODM allied Member of Parliament from Gusii region eyeing a gubernatorial seat has been told that goons he is walking around with won't make him the governor.
A section of Nyamira locals warned Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati against hiring goons to disrupt peaceful functions attended by his rivals.
"It is very unfortunate that Mr Arati hired goons to disrupt a burial ceremony of the late Samuel Ong'era, brother to Kisii County MP Janet Ong'era. The MP should know goons won't elected him to clinch the top seat he is eyeing in Kisii County come 2022," said Emmanuel Machuka on Saturday in Nyamira town.
Joseph Ondoro claimed that MP Arati imposed himself as the Gusii community spokesman to intimidate other leaders.
"This man (Arati) imposed himself on the Gusii community. He has now gone far to disrupt funerals with an aim of chasing political relevance. Clinching a top seat in 2022 will be a mountain for him," noted Ondoro.
Angered Edinah Nyaboke urged Arati to focus on Nairobi politics where he was elected.
"I am appealing to the impostor to concentrate in the city politics and leave alone Gusii leaders to shape the region politics," she stated.
