The return of Don Bosco Gichana may have disrupted succession plans both in Kisii and neighbouring Nyamira County.
None of the elected politicians from either region attended his Friday's homecoming rally in which he dismissed them as cowards.
"When I was in jail, none of them even those who pretend to be my friends came. That's why you're not seeing any of them either from Nyamira or Kisii here.
"They are cowards and I don't know why they fear even before the battery starts," he noted.
Sources intimate that Mr. Bosco could partner with Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati for gubernatorial position in 2022.
The two are said to be closely monitoring ongoing succession battles in both counties with Governor James Ongwae and John Nyagarama expected to retire.
A source says that the two are recruiting youthful politicians who are expected to ran for various seats.
"We shall see a paradigm shift in our politics. You'll see young policians coming on board. There will be a coordinated campaign in both counties in all seats at stake," said the source.
In Kisii, the duo are likely to face Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka.
And in Nyamira, the two are still sourcing for a youthful candidate who is expected to take on experienced politicians such as Timothy Bosire and even John Matiang'i, who is likely to bounce back.
