Governor John Nyagarama made a surprise appearance on Friday at Karen during ODM National Governing Council meeting, despite being at loggerheads with the party for a couple of years now.
After his re-election in 2017, Nyagarama has been reading from different script from his boss Raila Odinga and often attracting criticism from a section of ODM leaders.
During the meeting, Mr Nyagarama said he is in ODM to stay, adding that despite the past, he is willing and ready to support the party's philosophies all the time.
"I am attending NGC meeting at Karen. This is in solidarity with our party and celebrating democratic space we have enjoyed since 2006 when it was first formed," said Mr Nyagarama.
Last year in July, Nyagarama openly refused to host a party function, irking party officials among them Director of Elections Mr Junet Mohammed and Embakasi South aspirant Irshad Sumra.
Former Manga MCA Peter Maroro however doubted Nyagarama's presence in the meeting, insisting that it must have been circumstantial.
"I doubt that he has the party in his DNA. This must have been just by coincidence. He has frustrated many party functions and I don't think he's being sincere at all," he said.
