Canadian-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna is grieving the demise of his father-in-law Mzee Benson Amolo Awange.
He passed on in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
"Mourning my father in law Mzee Benson Omolo Awange who passed suddenly in Migori Town, at around 12:30 a.m. on January 2, 2020. My heartfelt condolences to my mother in law, wife, Jane, and Eunice, Ochieng', Gwayo, Judy and Awuor. May his soul Rest In Eternal Peace," Miguna posted on Facebook Thursday.
The deceased is father to Jane Miguna - the lawyer's wife. He has been survived by a widow, Amollo and Omolo and six children.
It is not yet clear what led to his death which comes amid the anticipated return of Miguna to Kenya in February this year following his deportation to Canada in 2018.
Miguna was first deported on February 6, 2018, over his role in swearing-in Raila Odinga as the 'People's President' at Uhuru Park on January 30, 2018.
He returned on March 24 and what followed was a 72-hour standoff between him and immigration officials at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) before he was forcefully deported.
